You can go to Phuket by Train, Bus or Flight. There is no train service direct to Phuket so what you’ll have to do is take a train from Bangkok to Surat Thani and then a bus the rest of the way, which will cost you the same as an air ticket. There are direct buses to Phuket which starts from 1,351INR and takes 14 hours to reach. So, I concluded flight to be the best mode of transport costing 500INR extra with less hassle and less time for travel.
If you are taking a flight without a meal and you feel like eating before your flight, then you can find a skywalk from the airport to the other side of the road where there are a lot of food stalls. If the heat is killing you then take a parcel from one of the food stalls (they don't charge for containers like in India) and have it in the waiting area of the airport. Food near the airport will cost you 30THB to 50THB.

If you are boarding an Air Asia flight, make sure you keep an eye on the gate no. Air Asia people will change the gate last moment and if you are not alert you might miss the flight. It was so funny that when I reached the gate I saw a few folks waiting for boarding while there was a board indicating the gate no is changed. I’m not sure in which dream world they were in. I was lucky to not sit with them and rather notice the board and run off to the next gate. I literally ran screaming “The gate is changed” which did make the other people realize. I felt like a movie hero running in the airport trying to stop my lover. I ran with my two heavy backpacks from one complete end of the second floor to complete opposite end of ground floor through 2 escalators pushing through the crowd.
On flight happened this weird thing. Well, it was just AC but looks like smoke. If you are boarding a flight for the first time you will freak out like my co-passenger did.
